About idd.gg

Why we exist

Most online communities are either fragmented across social feeds that nobody owns, or locked inside a single platform's walled garden. idd.gg started as a deliberate pushback against that — a space where conversations have permanence, where your work can be found later, and where you're not at the mercy of an algorithm deciding who sees what.

The forum gives ideas a long shelf life. Discord gives real-time connection. Whenever the community would benefit from a new server or platform, we add it.

Who it's for

idd doesn't restrict itself to one type of person or one platform. If you make things, play things, or think carefully about the internet — you're in the right place.

Creatives

Designers, illustrators, artists, musicians — people who bring visual and sensory thinking to the world. Your work has a home here.

Gamers

Casual explorers or competitive grinders, weekend warriors or daily devotees. Seasonal community servers give everyone a shared world to roam.

Creators

Streamers, video makers, podcasters, writers — people who put work out into the world and want a community that's built to support them.

How to take part

There are two main ways to plug in. The Forum is where longer thoughts live — project threads, resource sharing, private sections, announcements and freedom from bot scraping. The Discord is where the day-to-day stuff happens — voice, video, live chat, and Brook (our bot) keeping everyone in the loop.

Neither is mandatory. Use what suits your communication style; the community is meant to offer a space for all types of people and preferences.

Community Bot

Brook

Brook runs across Discord and Twitch — announcing when members go live, reposting clips and YouTube releases, running movie night polls, and generally keeping the community in the loop so nothing slips through the cracks.
